Welcome to the World of Kelee Katillac

Kelee Katillac is a lot of things…A recent feature by Ariel Okin in Fenimore Lane's Talk Shop series introduces her as an "interior and architectural designer, preservation consultant, author and philanthropist"... I just think of her as an ARTIST.

I have had the good fortune to work with Kelee on three projects in Kansas City.  Her condominium at 3800 Baltimore was featured in Chamber of Curiosity: Apartment Design & The New Elegance as one of the most beautiful apartments in the world and was featured in House Beautiful, see the pictures below.

Most recently, Kelee has renovated three estates in Arrow Rock Missouri and surrounding areas.  The Henry Blosser Estate in Malta Bend Missouri was her first project.  Owned by Dr. Arthur Elman and Carolyn Elman, the house was considered the most endangered residence in the state.  After many years of restoration the Blosser Estate plans to open to the public in 2024 (follow link below).

Kelee's next two projects, one in Arrow Rock and the John Bingham Farmstead in Nelson Missouri, offer 7 acres of historic beauty.  The entrance to Arrow Rock sits directly across the street from the property.  The 3000 square foot farmhouse has been renovated from top to bottom with a chicken coop and barn.  Perfect for a weekend residence, a short term rental or event space (follow link below).

The Bingham Farmstead is currently on the market for $799,000.00; I am always available to show you this property.

Aderton is a special 2-story home that sits directly on Arrow Rock’s main street with shopping and restaurants.  This beautifully renovated home offers a bright, unexpected decor of whimsy and romance. This breathtaking home sits on three lots - two of which are undeveloped.  All of these homes are featured in her new book Historic Style: Honoring the Past with Design for Todayhttps://historicstyle.com and can be purchased through Amazon.

Kelee is receiving national and international recognition for Historic Style. 1st Dibs has done an Introspective on the Henry Blosser House and Plaza Magazine in Sweden just did a feature on Historic Style.

As long as I have known Kelee and her husband Steve Heiffus it’s always been exciting, an adventure and unbelievable beauty seen through her eyes. Kelee’s aesthetic is unlike any other and her accessibility is real.

Please contact me with any inquiries about Kelee Kattilac and any of the articles and properties mentioned in this piece.

Discover Arrow Rock

Below is the link to the Arrow Rock website and it says it all!  Arrow Rock is a National Landmark Historic Village with a diverse, creative community that draws thousands of tourists every year to the Broadway caliber Lyceum Theater. It’s an hour and a half drive from Kansas City due east. Once you exit (89) it’s a 13 mile drive through rolling farmland and the very quaint town of Blackwater before pulling into Arrow Rock.

I didn’t know anything about Arrow Rock until a couple of years ago when Kelee asked me to come visit and I fell in love. Hours of walking trails, the Lyceum Theater, so be sure and plan accordingly if you want to see a play and total peace of mind.  It’s a perfect one day road trip or plan on staying at one of the many AirBnB's around Arrow Rock.

Something new in Strawberry Hill…

As many of you know, I moved to Strawberry Hill four years ago and absolutely love it. The mix of residential and commercial business all melded into 5 blocks overlooking downtown Kansas City is pretty spectacular.

Brand new listing coming on the market this spring. It’s a Victorian 2-story home completely renovated on a huge lot with approximately 2200 square feet of living space. The seller renovated the home for himself but has decided to sell the house instead of moving in.

This is a two bedroom house with 10 foot ceilings, hardwoods on the main floor, spacious kitchen with a great room and a big butler’s pantry. Beautiful chandeliers in both the formal living and dining rooms with pocket doors. The master suite has living quarters with a huge walk-in closet with laundry behind the master bath and views of downtown. Huge second bedroom with an office nook and bath make up the second floor.

The seller renovated the home for himself but has since decided to sell the house instead of moving in. The price is $429,000.

Please let me know if you would like to see it! It’s a short walk from my house and I am always happy to show it! Here are some photos:
