If you already live between Gregory and 85th, you know the drill. Someone from out of the neighborhood asks what to do in Waldo on a summer night and you point them to 75th and Wornall. That corner has been the answer for a long time. This summer it is the question.
The intersection is under construction. The city's Wornall Road plan between 74th and 79th adds east and west left-turn lanes at 75th and pulls apart the parking lot at the northeast corner, according to Flatland KC's reporting on the neighborhood's growth. Meanwhile the actual weeknight energy has drifted a block north into a parking lot behind Waldo Pizza, and the newer, hungrier restaurants have quietly stacked up along Gregory. If you have been treating Wornall as the default and the rest of Waldo as backup, you have the map inverted for the season.
