Midtown/Westport

Midtown-Westport has a longstanding appeal mainly due to Westport's thriving entertainment district.

Welcome to Midtown-Westport

A collection of historic neighborhoods with a progressive, thriving nightlife district

As one of Kansas City's oldest neighborhoods, Westport has a long and fascinating backstory. Originally named West Port, its name came from the fact that it was the westernmost village where settlers would stop for gear and necessities before venturing out to explore the Kansas area to the west. Today, Midtown-Westport has a longstanding appeal due to it's thriving entertainment district and diverse historical neighborhoods.

Lively clubs & bars, late-night entertainment, and early-morning brunch are key components of this urban, hip, progressive part of the city. This eclectic neighborhood represented by the area from 43rd St to 31st St (S to N) / State Line to the Paseo (W to E) houses many diverse communities for both residential buyers and renters. While Westport and West 39th Street are the predominant nightlife areas, Midtown is home to several of the city's beloved historial communities such as the Volker, Roanoke, Valentine, Coleman Highlands, Manheim Park, Squier Park, and Hyde Park neighborhoods.

  • Thriving nightlife

People & Lifestyle

Westport & W39th Street come alive at night when residents and tourists flock to the local bars and restaurants. The main demographic is composed of young adults attracted to the vibrant energy, but many families and older adults make up a large percentage as well . Each residential neighborhood has it's own unique flavor & flair, yet also a very strong sense of community identity with opportunities for residents from all backgrounds to interact and enjoy each other.

Both the rental and residential resale markets are very strong in this area as Midtown continues to be a very sought-after locale for those not wishing to settle down in a more suburban environment. The district is very walkable and dog-friendly, and hosts beautiful parks such as Roanoke Park and Hyde Park.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
